Have some extra time on your hands? Have you always wanted to hike, but not sure where to go or what to bring? Do you need a guide to determine what trails may work best for your level of conditioning? Are you just not sure which direction to go and how long to venture out?
Hiking is a great way to get out of the city while still being in the city. I'll take you on a hike to Camelback, Piestewa Peak, Pinnacle Peak, Tom's Thumb, any of the various trails at South Mountain Park, Phoenix Mountains Preserve, McDowell Mountain Park, Phoenix Sonoran Preserve, Thunderbird Conservation Park, or Skyline Regional Preserve. We will hike for 1-2 hours at a pace that works for you all while having fun, getting some exercise, and enjoying scenic views at elevation or in washes. Saguaro cacti, ocotillo, creosote, foothills palo verde, and jumping cholla amongst many other desert plants will be visible. On the isolated desert trails we may see wildlife like quail, mule deer, javelina, Harris' antelope ground squirrels, roadrunners, coyotes, various lizards, and rattlesnakes depending on our location. Popular trails like Camelback and Piestewa Peak provide intense hikes, scenic views, and a lot of hikers. The less traveled trails of the other parks and preserves provide peaceful viewing of desert vegetation, dry washes, rocky surfaces, and wildlife. Giant saguaro and rocky formations will provide photo opportunities. You'll have to be lucky and quick for wildlife photos. Most importantly we will be having fun, exercising, and taking in nature from a desert perspective that you may never forget the rest of your life. Anyone is encouraged to book a hike whether you exercise regularly or not. RATES
